The Newtown Square Fire Company was dispatched to Edgmont Township tonight for a pedestrian struck at West Chester Pike and Sandy Flash Road. East bound West Chester Pike was shut down for a time for the patient to receive care and to clear the accident scene. One lane is now open east bound, but please avoid the area if possible because there remains a significant traffic back up.
