Building Fire in Marple Township

This morning Newtown Square Fire Company assisted Broomall Fire Company with a fire in a row of strip stores in the 2600 block of West Chester Pike near Sproul Road. The fire has been placed under control. There were no injuries but some businesses sustained damage from the fire, smoke and water. West Chester Pike was closed for a time due to the hydrant line, but is now reopened to traffic.
