John Lloyd from the Delaware County Firemen’s Association attended the regular monthly meeting of the Newtown Square Fire Company to present two awards to the members of the Fire Company.
Firefighter Jack Robinson was nominated and won the Christopher N. Kangus Junior Firefighter of the Year award. Jack received this award for his service to the fire company. Jack has consistently made 31% of the fire calls, 75% of drills all while maintaining a 3.76 GPA grade point average.
The second award winner was Carl Ewing, who was presented the Harry Maitland Lifetime Achievement Award. Carl joined the fire company at the age of 16 in 1963. In the 61 years that followed Carl has held also most every position in the fire company including three years as Fire Chief.
