Stormy weather causes 4 runs

At 1735hrs a building assignment was dispatched to 204 Aronimink Dr in Newtown Sq. 41-9 arrived on scene and was advised by an off duty volunteer firefighter that the house was sparking from the gutters and had taken a direct strike from a downed power line in the rear of the residence yard. Occupant stated that the light switches were "glowing" inside the home and was being assisted by the near by neighbor to evacuate the residence safely. PECO was notified thru county communications center of the incident and all fire fighting evolutions were held due to possible electrical situation involved and the home being energized. Quint53 staged out front with the aerial in service to the front portion of sides A/B and LA41 set up for aerial operations in the sides A/D corner. Eng41 staged at the hydrant (Mansion and Aronimick Dr.) and RE41 entered the scene and staged with manpower in the circle to assist with fire suppression with Quint53 crew. PECO "pulled the meter" and secured the power to the residence and fire was found to be in the pump house outside of the rear pedestrian door to the garage area. Fire extinguishment confined to the area of origin and the residence was checked for further involvement, smoke ejected and secured by Johnston Builders. 3 other runs during and after this incident were trees and wires calls.
